St John Zimbabwe is a national organisation dedicated to improving health, safety, and well-being across communities in Zimbabwe through first aid training, emergency response support, and community health programmes. We are part of the St John international family of organisations, which operates in 44 countries and territories worldwide.
In Zimbabwe, we work with local partners and the wider network to deliver services that equip people with essential lifesaving skills and strengthen access to basic healthcare support, helping to build stronger and more resilient communities.
Our origins date back to 1925, when the St John Association of Zimbabwe began after two members of the National Railways of Rhodesia staff started teaching first aid using St John Ambulance manuals. The first St John Centre was established in Bulawayo to meet the needs of railway staff through this training. From these beginnings, we have grown into a nationwide organisation delivering training, emergency support, and community-based health initiatives across Zimbabwe.
